We welcome and nurture...
Taking care of each other is an essential part of being in community. Our Caring Network volunteer coordinators work with our minister to support members and friends who are in times of transition. This could be the loss of a job, moving to a new neighborhood or city, the arrival of a new baby, or unexpected illness, family problems, separation or divorce, bereavement or a bewildering depression. For the name of this month's coordinator, see The Week at a Glance, or contact the office at 514 485 9933 or office@ucmtl.ca.
There comes a time when we all need someone to listen to us. Someone who is famliar with all the available community resources -- names, adresses and phone numbers, who can direct people in need to those whose job it is to help. The Caring Network is designed to be that resource for our community.
How It Works
Each month, a new Volunteer Coordinator takes responsibility for the Caring Network. The Coordinator takes calls and e-mails about needs in the UCM Community and, working from a comprehensive list of helpers, finds the right person to help.
Helpers are people who are willing to:
- do telephone check-ups;
- make hospital or home visits,
- prepare and/or deliver food,
- help with shopping
- act as chaffeur
Please let us know if you would like your name added to our
rosters of persons willing to help. Alternatively, if you know anyone who needs
our help, please get in touch with us.
