One of our ongoing projects is to support refugees in Montreal.
Members of our congregation help support the Covered Garden Refugee Centre by volunteering to "staff" its meeting and recreation space to keep it open on Sundays. We gather much needed supplies, from layette sets for new born babies whose mothers arrive with little resources, to winter clothes for those adjusting to the cold northern winters. We gather new and gently used toys and games for the children at the centre. The children in our religious education program and the children living at the center exchange cards and greetings too.
