Parts in Peace Choir rehearsal

Everyone is welcome to join the UCM's designated Sunday Service Choir! All that is required is enthusiasm, a certain commitment to attend rehearsals in order not to let your colleagues down, and a binder and pencil. Our goal is to learn beautiful, accessible and fun songs from all styles and periods. We offer these songs to complement the service themes, generally once a month at a Sunday morning service.  Recordings of voice parts for many of the songs we learn are available online at http://www.ucmtl.ca/ucm-music-resources

Saturday, November 8, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
The UCM Fair Trade Craft Fair is back!

After a two-year hiatus, the UCM is resuming this traditional marketplace, offering a wide range of fair trade products (coffee, tea, chocolate, and more) plus handicrafts from developing countries -- perfectly timed to get your holiday shopping off to a great start! This event supports the concept of fair trade, making principles of decency and fairness mean something, while helping organizations supporting struggling artisans in developing countries. All proceeds will be donated to USC Canada's Seeds of Survival Program. Shoppers can enjoy a bowl of vegetarian soup or a cup of fair trade coffee with a delicious home-made dessert. If you can contribute in any way (perhaps by helping out in the kitchen, getting the word out, or donating a fresh-baked square), please contact  Debbie Blythe.

This year, we take this time to explore stories from Quebec, in remembrance of the 100th anniversary of the beginning of World War I. As always, it takes courage to find a balance between gratitude for those who serve in the armed forces and to reaffirm our commitment to peace.
