Join us for Quoi ?!! I Don’t Get It! with Rev. Diane Rollert and music by Sandra Hunt at 10:30 am, Sunday, January 10. Humour has an incredibly cultural context. You can master another language, and still not get the jokes. Cultural humour can define who we are as separate from others. It challenges us to build bridges where the language of laughter can be universal.
Sacred Stories meets on Tuesday, January 5 with Rev Diane. The Book Discussion Group will meet on Thursday, January 7 at 7 pm. The Lesbian/Queer Social Discussion Group will meet at 7:30 pm on Friday, January 8. The Social and Environmental Concerns Committee will meet at noon following the service on January 10.

Book Discussion Group
We will be discussing The Nine Lives of Charlotte Taylor by Sally Armstrong. In this fictionalized biography of one of her distant forbears Armstrong limns a portrait of a feisty rebel, encouraging the reader to reflect on the benefits and costs of being a non-conformist. How far would you go to satisfy your heart's desire, even if it meant separation from your family, social opprobrium and physical danger? Contact: Valerie Broege at 514-488-4670
Friday, January 8, 7:30 pm, Thomas Room

This is a primarily English speaking group although francophones are certainly welcome. Topics will evolve according to members' interests. For more information: Carole Tenbrink at 514-563-2429.
